► URL Forwarding
(Point domains to an existing web site)
Domain forwarding is a service that is available with your domain
registration. It allows you to redirect visitors to another website
(that you own) when they type your domain name in the browser
address field.
Pay the nominal fee of just $5.95
per name per year to receive banner-free forwarding to the URL of your choice.
Your
domain will be hosted on our servers, and typing your domain in a
web browser will pull up the URL you specify. You can use a standard
URL such as http://www.domain.com/test.html, or an IP address in the
following format: http://12.12.13.256. It will take less than 24
hours for your forwarding to propagate throughout the internet. You
may change your forwarding destination at any time through the
management control panel by clicking on Domain Forwarding.
To set up domain forwarding
1.Click Manage, and log in to your account.
2.Beside the domain that you want to redirect, click Domain
Forwarding.
3.In the URL field, enter the address of the destination website.
You can specify the URL, for example, http://www.yourcompany.com/yourexamplesite.html,
or you can specify the IP address, for example, http://12.34.56.789.
4.Click Enabled to implement domain forwarding.
5.If you do not want your website address to appear in the browser
address field, select Masked from the drop-down list. When visitors
type your domain name in the browser address field, they are sent to
your website, but they still see your domain name in the address
field. If you do want the website address (the destination) to be
displayed in the address field, ensure that Masked is not selected.
6.Optionally, in the Title field, enter the text that you want to
appear in the browser title bar.
7.Optionally, in the Description field, enter a short description of
your website.
8.Optionally, in the Keywords field, enter some descriptive words
that a visitor might use when searching for your website. Separate
each word or phrase with a comma.
9.Click Save.
Please allow 24 to 48 hours for your change to propagate throughout
the Internet.
Please be aware that signing up for our URL
Forwarding services WILL update your Nameservers to
ns1.shopco.com and ns2.shopco.com.
To remove domain forwarding
1.Click Manage, and log in to your account.
2.Beside the domain whose domain forwarding you want to remove,
click Domain Forwarding.
3.Ensure that Enabled is not selected.
4.Optionally, in the URL field, delete the address of the
destination website.
5.Click Save.

►Transfer
Lock (Registration Lock)
(Secure against unauthorized changes)
A "domain hijacking" is when
someone transfers your domain to another registrar without your
approval. These fraudulent transfers are done in an attempt to gain
ownership of your domain. When our Transfer Lock service is
active, hijacking a domain is impossible. Only disable the Transfer
Lock from your domains if you would like to transfer to
another ICANN accredited registrar. The Transfer Lock Service is FREE,
and is included with all of our domain registrations. This extra
security will help prevent unauthorized transfer requests and more.
To lock a domain
1.Click Manage, and log in to your account.
2.Beside the domain name, click Transfer Lock.
3.In the Domain Locking drop-down list, choose Enabled, and then
click Save.
The auth code is a unique combination of characters, similar to a
password, that is used to show verifiable proof of ownership of a
domain. If you are transferring a domain to another service
provider, you must supply the auth code to that provider to show
that you have the authority to transfer the domain. The auth code
can only be generated by the owner of the domain.
►
Contact
Privacy
(Secure your Identity)
Did you know that every
domain you have ever registered has 'WHOIS' information publicly
posted for anyone and everyone to see? This service maintains your
personal privacy for your online identity. Contact Privacy is a free
service that hides your identity (address, phone number, email
address) when a WHOIS lookup is done on your domain name. When you
register your domain, Contact Privacy is included at no extra
charge.
Please note:
Contact Privacy is not available for .US domain name
registrations.
You can enable and disable Contact Privacy by
editing the contact information.
To edit contact information
1.Click Manage, and log in to your account.
2.Beside the domain whose contact information you want to change,
click Contacts.
3.Click Use contact privacy to hide your identity (address, phone
number, email address) when a WHOIS lookup is done on your domain
name.
4.Click Save.
What is 'WHOIS' Information?
When you register a domain; the Registrant, Admin, Billing, and
Technical contact information is collected by the Registrar and
posted publicly for anyone to see. This is your 'WHOIS' information.
Government and ICANN regulations require all domain holders to
submit WHOIS information which is then collected and displayed in a
public 'WHOIS' database!
WHOIS databases are specific to each registrar. If you registered
the domain name properly, it will show in our WHOIS database
immediately. It will show in the InterNIC central database 24-48
hours later, but might not ever display in another registrar's
database. That doesn't mean someone else can register the name, the
name record is still taken, but it might not show you as the owner.
Your best bet is always to look up a domain at the registrar of
record. To find out who the registrar is for a name, go to
http://www.internic.net/whois.html.
►
Renew Your Domains
(Extend registration term up to 10 years)
Make sure your domains are renewed with our new
Auto Renewal option. Domains that are about to expire and have
the Auto Renew option checked, will be renewed automatically for a
period of 1 year. The actual renewal will take place 30 days prior
to the domain's expiration date. This allows us plenty of time to
correct any charging issues such as expired credit card or credit
card processing failure. This gives us valuable time to help avoid
lost domains. A renewal notification will be emailed to the address
in your account. Renewals will be billed to the credit card you have
on file. If the credit card information is invalid or has been
declined, you will receive an email with an opportunity to update
the payment information.
If you do not wish to renew any of your domains, and you do not want
to receive renewal emails, you can stop the emails from being sent,
and your domain will expire at the end of its term. Use our
Disable Renewal Notices to set up this option.
Take advantage of the same low rates
for domain renewal.
Current registration term plus
additional years cannot exceed 10 years.
► Disable Renewal
Notices

Enter a check mark beside
